Dark backdrop, adjustable cinematic lighting, controlled acoustics and broadcast equipment: of Wanda Studio's two studios, Studio Rhône is the one that pushes the on-screen look the furthest. It is at Rue du Stand 3bis, 1204 Geneva, and takes up to 4 people. Expect 189 CHF an hour for studio rental only, or 299 CHF an hour with multicam recording and editing delivered within 48 hours.

A dark backdrop, light that sculpts faces

The black here is no decorator's whim. A deep backdrop absorbs light instead of bouncing it back, so the cinematic lighting can focus on faces: the eyes draw you in, features gain depth, and the background stops competing with what is being said. This lighting is adjustable, so its intensity is matched to the situation, one person alone in front of the camera or four around the table. For an executive, a law firm or a clinic, the difference plays out in a few seconds of viewing: a well-crafted frame establishes credibility before the first sentence, whereas a flat image undermines an otherwise solid message.

The broadcast equipment, link by link

Studio Rhône is built like a broadcast chain: from microphone to monitors, every link is of professional quality. The Shure SM7B is a dynamic studio microphone designed for the spoken voice. It feeds an SSL console, the point where the signal is shaped before being recorded. The Adam Audio studio monitors are then used to hear what is actually being captured, regardless of how the room sounds to the ear. As for the controlled acoustics, they take reverberation out of the equation, the room echo that immediately gives away a recording made anywhere but a studio.

  • Shure SM7B microphone, dynamic, dedicated to the spoken voice
  • SSL console for shaping the signal
  • Adam Audio studio monitors for checking the sound
  • Adjustable cinematic lighting
  • Fibre-optic connection for large files
  • Capacity: up to 4 people

Podcast, interview, corporate, dubbing: four uses

Professional podcast recording remains the main use, but it is far from the only one. Video interviews gain a great deal here: the dark set puts the guest at the centre of the picture and gives the format the feel of a broadcast rather than a video call. Corporate content benefits from the same effect, whether it is a senior executive speaking to camera, an offer being presented or an internal message. A dubbing session, for its part, uses the studio the other way round: only the voice matters, the controlled acoustics and the Adam Audio monitors come before the picture, and the space lends itself to retakes, line by line, until you get the right one.

Studio Rhône pricing, by duration

The grid is quicker to read by slot than by package. On the left, studio rental only; on the right, the same duration with multicam recording and editing.

  • 1h: 189 CHF studio rental only · 299 CHF with recording and editing
  • 2h: 359 CHF · 559 CHF
  • 3h: 489 CHF · 769 CHF
  • 4h: 589 CHF · 949 CHF

What you take away, and how you pay

With studio rental only, you leave with the raw files: what comes next is up to your editor, your agency or you. The multicam recording package adds post-production: you open no software, the content comes back to you edited, ready to publish, in 4K, within 48 hours. Prices are identical to Studio Salève's, so the choice of studio never affects the budget, only the result. Payment is made online by card at the time of booking, and bookings are made at wanda-studio.com/reserver.

What to prepare before you walk through the door

The studio is fully equipped, so you have nothing technical to bring. What separates a smooth session from a laboured one comes down to content: arriving with the order of topics written down, even roughly, avoids the pauses spent hunting for the next point, which weigh down the edit. Also note the exact spelling of first names, surnames and job titles, since these are what will appear on screen. The rest is a matter of details that show up a great deal on camera and that few people think about before they are sitting in front of it.

  • The order of topics, or the list of questions
  • The exact spelling of the names and job titles to display
  • Plain clothing: fine stripes and tight patterns shimmer on camera
  • The objects or materials you want to show on camera
  • The passages you consider essential and that must survive the edit

Rhône or Salève: the difference is in the equipment

Both studios cost the same to book, occupy the same building, take the same number of people and both rely on the Shure SM7B. What sets them apart is what comes after the microphone and around the table. At the Rhône: SSL console, Adam Audio monitors, adjustable cinematic lighting, fibre-optic connection, against a dark backdrop. At the Salève: Focusrite Scarlett audio interface, monitoring screen, adjustable warm light, natural wood furniture. The Rhône puts its resources into signal control and the on-screen look. If your final content will be watched as much as listened to, the question is settled.

Getting to Rue du Stand 3bis and booking a slot

The address is Rue du Stand 3bis, 1204 Geneva, on the left bank, between Jonction and Plainpalais. The two studios share the building, so you can switch spaces from one project to the next without changing address or habits. Slots run from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., seven days a week, Sundays included: a session can therefore be scheduled before offices open as well as after they close. Booking is done at wanda-studio.com/reserver, by choosing the date and duration; for the room, tell us “Studio Rhône” in the booking message, or call us on 022 554 73 67. If in doubt about the package or how much time to allow, the phone settles it faster: 022 554 73 67, or contact@wanda-studio.com.

Frequently asked questions

What people ask us.

How much does a session at Studio Rhône cost?

The price depends on the duration and the package chosen. One hour of studio rental only is 189 CHF; one hour with multicam recording and editing is 299 CHF. For three hours, expect 489 CHF or 769 CHF depending on the package, and for four hours 589 CHF or 949 CHF. Payment is made online by card at the time of booking.

Is Studio Rhône suitable for a dubbing session?

Yes, it is one of its uses. The controlled acoustics limit room reflections, the Shure SM7B is designed for the spoken voice and the Adam Audio monitors let you check the take as it happens. You book the slot just as you would for a podcast, from 189 CHF for one hour. For a longer project, call 022 554 73 67 to plan the rest.

How does it differ from Studio Salève?

The equipment and the set, not the price or the capacity. The Rhône adds the SSL console, the Adam Audio studio monitors, the adjustable cinematic lighting and fibre optics, against a dark backdrop. The Salève relies on a Focusrite Scarlett interface, warm light and natural wood furniture. Both studios use the Shure SM7B and take up to 4 people.

How many people can Studio Rhône take?

Up to 4 people, host included. The price depends only on the length of the slot and the package chosen, not on the number of participants present. If your format brings together more speakers, it is best to discuss it before booking: call 022 554 73 67 or write to contact@wanda-studio.com describing the planned running order.

What exactly does the 299 CHF package include?

It adds multicam recording and editing to the studio rental. You leave with no files to process: the edited content is delivered to you ready to publish, in 4K, within 48 hours. The grid follows the duration: 299 CHF for 1h, 559 CHF for 2h, 769 CHF for 3h and 949 CHF for 4h. The studio-rental-only package, from 189 CHF, is limited to the studio and the raw files.

How do booking and payment work?

Booking is done at wanda-studio.com/reserver: you choose the date, the duration and the package, then mention Studio Rhône in the booking message. Payment is made online by card at the time of booking; companies that need an invoice can write to us before booking. If you are torn between one hour and two, or between the two packages, a call to 022 554 73 67 settles it faster than a form, seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.
